SCHOOL  OF  THE  ARTS
JamaeRaw
Nurturing  Self  Discovery Through Performing Art

simply means that our focus for classes are to build student's confidence in expressing themselves creatively in front of an audience and among their peers.
By teaching the essential tools for professional development or simply as a personal achievement, our aim is to nurture the individual essence of the performer.
As the School is conducted by (working) industry professionals, we not only provide an up to date perspective in the field of entertainment, we also aim to create as many opportunities for practical experience as possible.
Several students have already acquired paid work in film, television and theatre, as well as gaining placement in higher education for performing arts.
Above all, our objective is to create a safe environment in order to develop a healthy attitude among students.
Performances are developed for an end of year production, and a mid year presentation at the Almond Blossom Festival. Other opportunities to perform may arise throughout the year, such as our annual fundraiser. (Saturday May 16th, Penny's Hill Winery)
and the Tour Down Under, January 2010.

DANCE   A safe approach to developing technique for a variety of dance styles, from traditional to modern, while maintaining the dancer's individual performing personality.
Dancers can be trained for both chorus work, as well as principal parts.
As we are not a competitive school, we don't structure entry into dance competitions, however exams and competitions may be available by request from the group / individual.
A dance camp will be held in early October leading up to the October 17th production. Details in the student info section.

ACTING  We use all mediums of stage, screen and radio. By developing techniques for use in film, television, commercial, theatre, and promotional, we enhance the opportunities for a variety of experience within the industry, and within our local events.
Apart from working on specific projects, skills are developed for both a professional career within the industry, as well as life in general.
SINGING  Singing lessons, whether private or group, are aimed at developing the natural voice of the student. Specific techniques are used to build strength in breathing, and pitch, and we use a variety of song genres, specialising in musical theatre.
